The Huguenot Society of Georgia

Welcome to our Huguenot Society of Georgia website.  We invite you to learn more about our lineage society.  By providing you with opportunities to explore your ancestry, we hope that you will discover a Huguenot ancestor.

The Huguenot Society of Georgia is under the umbrella of The National Huguenot Society.  The Register of Qualified Ancestors of The National Huguenot Society has been placed across Georgia in all major libraries with genealogy sections.

Huguenots were Protestants who fled from religious persecution in France during the 16th and 17th century to many parts of the world. Many Huguenots came to America where they assimilated as highly skilled craftsmen and artisans. Their talents in the arts, science, and industry were a significant gain for America. At least nine of our U.S. Presidents were of proven Huguenot descent and possibly many more!

Our society has two membership meetings a year. We celebrate our Huguenot heritage with lunch and informative speakers. We also enjoy warm fellowship with our members and guests.

You are invited to contact us and explore your heritage with a great group of ladies and gentlemen!
